Some of my core beliefs: I firmly believe in the Bible as the word of God, that God truly loves us. I believe the Bible focuses on his son Jesus Christ, who came to this earth as a sacrifice to allow us to come back to God and to restore the relationship that was intended for us to enjoy. I believe the Bible to be totally accurate in it's original languages and to be inspired by God himself. I believe that it contains what God intended it to contain and that it is designed to teach us about who God is and to lead us to him. That said, I believe that the Christian church is all about relationship and not about religion. Jesus Christ gave us our highest calling, to Love God with all our hearts, soul and mind. And the next was to love our neighbor as ourselves. (Matthew 22:36-40) If we, as Christians, would only focus on our "first Love", it would become life changing. We would become more and more like Christ, loving our neighbors, even the ones we don't like. This can be done only with the supernatural working of the Holy Spirit, which has been given to us as a seal, a guarantee of our new standing before God as a new creation. (Ephesians 1:13-14) To truly love God is to become intimate with Him, to talk with Him, walk with Him, commune with Him, read about Him and to live life in His daily presence. Religion is worthless, but relationship is everything.
